Using the Lecture Recording system for CART captioning

Summary

Now that the CART Captioning and Lecture Recording services have been combined, instructors can follow a simple procedure to ensure that the transcriptionist is able to hear what is being said during lecture and discussion.

Body

Using the Lecture Recording system for CART captioning (Communication Access Realtime Translation):

If you are using the podium, projector and a microphone for your lecture, for lecture recordings, or for occasional hybrid presentations, you have zero extra things to do!

If you are not using the computer or projection system (leading a discussion section, writing on chalkboard or whiteboard), follow this simple procedure:

1. On the podium's touch panel, select the DOCUMENT CAMERA. Selecting this video source is necessary to route the audio properly for the transcriptionist.

2. Mute VIDEO. This mutes the projector, won't interfere with using the chalkboard or whiteboard, or with discussions.

Be sure to wear a microphone so that your voice can be heard by the transcriptionist.
