Nvivo License in Virtual Sites

Environment

Virtual Sites, Microsoft AVD, Nvivo

Issue

When I try to launch Nvivo in Virtual Sites I am asked for a license key that I don't have.

Resolution

This behavior stems from trying to launch the application too quickly after logging into Virtual Sites. The best course of action is the following:

  • When you log into Virtual Sites and see the screen with all of the available application icons, wait 90 seconds before launching Nvivo.
    • This gives the virtual machine time to reach out to the proper servers to claim the license it needs.

If you are presented with a screen asking for a license activation:

  • Please enter the required information (any box marked with an *)
  • Click Activate
